About Me

Let me tell you a little about myself and what I do

My name is Alex Brown

I am a magna cum laude graduate from Rowan University with Bachelor degrees in both Communications and Theatrical Arts. However, over the past year I've focused my efforts on learning Front-End Web Development, with plans to continue to hone my craft in this discipline. Below you will see the technologies that I am currently studying.

Theatrical Works

I have been in numerous productions of musicals and plays. Some of my more notable roles include "Beast" from Beauty and The Beast, "Joseph" from Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and "Bobby Strong" from Urinetown.

Outdoors

The outdoors is a big part of my life, whether running a trail, going fishing, or enjoying the scenery nature has provided for us. I love to be involved in cleaning up and creating more sustainable solutions to protect nature.

Video Games

One of my biggest reasons for becoming a developer has been my love for the gaming medium. Learning the work that goes into every little part of game development led me to learning more about web development.

My Inspirations

These are the people who inspire me!

“If you hear a voice within you say, ‘You cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.”

  • Vincent Van Gogh

“If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”

  • Bruce Lee

"It's fun to be on the edge. I think you do your best work when you take chances, when you're not safe, when you're not in the middle of the road, at least for me, anyway."

  • Danny Devito

“Any struggle or pain that you experience just gets you to the top, and you can't get there without making the climb. A few years later, you won't remember exactly the way the pain felt or how long it took, you'll just remember the view from the top. In fact, you might smile at the fact you had to work to get there.”
